Let’s have a look at the city edition NBA jerseys of the league’s Eastern Conference Southeast Division for NBA 2023-24 75th Anniversary season.

With a striking pair of wings stretched across the chest, these City Edition jerseys pay tribute to one of the NBA’s highest-flying teams, it also honors a Hawks legacy of flamboyant style, epic duels, spectacular dunks, and infinite highlight reels—dating back to the team’s first season. This City Edition moments mixtape uniform is a part of the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Season celebration.

The City Edition uniform was to tell a holistic story of the evolution of the team and brand from the inaugural season of 1988-89, through the return of the Hornets name to Charlotte in 2014, to the present day. The front of the jersey features a script “Charlotte” wordmark that has never been used before on a Hornets uniform. The use of script calls back to the popular design of pennants that hung in the background when the original Hornets uniforms were unveiled in 1988. The numbers on the front and back of the jersey are in the current Hornets font, while the player name on the back appears in the classic Hornets font. The number on the front of the jersey is right justified, reminiscent of the uniforms worn by the Bobcats from 2004-2009 and 2012-2014. The jersey also includes the anthem “EST. 1988” in the classic Hornets font on the bottom right front above the jocktag, acknowledging the franchise’s founding.

The Heat’s city edition jersey is a big fusion of the team name letters on the front of the jersey design from the Big Three and the post-Triumvirate era of multi-style mix and match, the first letter “M” two-color is the configuration of the Big Three era, the fourth “M” is the post-Triumvirate era The first letter “M” in two colors is the configuration of the Big Three era, and the fourth “M” is the template of the post-Triumph era. The numbers on the jerseys are also a mix of styles, with the black and white font derived from the black jerseys of the Big Three era.

The pinstripes and star pay homage to cherished symbols of the Magic’s past while incorporating the color orange to create a vibrant and inspirational theme representing the bright future of tomorrow in a bold new design. The iconic comet ball is also featured on the side panel representing a team that’s chasing higher heights. The neck and arm taping is a throwback to the team’s original uniforms — and the side insert features the Magic’s original partial logo.

The orange color was unveiled in the team’s Nike NBA City Edition uniform in 2019 to represent what Orlando is famous for – sunshine and citrus. From its very early beginnings, orange has been a part of Orlando – from sunshine, to orange groves to Orange County to Orange Ave., it’s the color thread that intertwines the fabric of this city, its people and this team.

The City Edition jersey features elements from the uniforms of the Baltimore Bullets of the 1960’s and the red stripes on a blue chassis reminiscent of the Washington Bullets of the 1970’s. Gold and white details are included with trims along the neck and arm areas, while the wordmark “Washington” and the numbers on the front and back of the jersey are also gold and white as a nod to the Wizards’ uniforms of the 2000’s. The uniform also honors Hall of Famer Wes Unseld, who defined the franchise as a player, coach and executive through various eras from its time in Baltimore to its current home in Washington.
